Yes I know I’ve been totally unfaithful, I have just been toooooo  busy, but am preparing a post with the photos of my summer.

I have been totally unfaithful to the blog for not writing for so long and also for

Yes it’s been over a year already since I have had the blog!

I have also been unfaithful to myself in regards to what the blog is all about I have NOT BEEN LOSING IT… losing no weight, quite the contrary, I have put on weight and am just not getting motivated enough being so busy to get it off again…!

But like I say I am preparing one so WATCH THIS SPACE SOON!

The Alps!

I don’t actually have much to write about, nothing new i.e. I am not dieting (losing any weight!) but I am still in Munich!

I had 2 trips to the Alps, one the one in my last post where I had to pick up my daughter from the week away from school @ a sort of outward bound course and then this weekend we had a family meal with my Step-fathers 3 daughters and their children!

On the way there (in the rain) saw these sights, first we left Munich towards the Alps in the nice weather and then it gradually got darker:

Then it was actually raining, but the sky looked a wonderful colour and a wonderful sun set:

We had a nice meal, I had a salad with Giant Shrimps, forgot to photograph it though!

Here more evidence that autumn is already comeing with more leaves on the ground:

On a hot day we had swimmers in the Eisbach (although it’s not officially allowed!):

Here a funny looking wild mushroom:

Then today I did remember to take a photo as my friend (who introduced me to the tiny but very delicious Thai near the Gasteig) discovered a new place to eat @, where I had a glass noodle salad with Biological turkey and poppadoms:

It’s called Pavesi Picnic ( and my friend ate a curry and I had the above, it’s was made fresh whilst we waited, and brought to us outside on the wooden step in front of the restaurant, I didn’t take a photo of the wooden step as there were people there and I couldn’t take a photo of them and put it on here without their permission!

On a dog walk with Daisy in the afternoon, saw the very full Isar:

and I also saw this nice fence-type-thing covering up the cellar window:

That’s all for now I’m afraid!  I am really so busy that I am not getting around to any sport or swimming and hardly any biking!  Mostly work but also we moved our office so all things a bit in the air and busy, busy, busy!  TTFN!

The Police State…!

My post today starts with some police surveillance!

There are lots of paths in the English Garden, Hofgarten etc etc where people walk and paths where people ride their bike (footpaths and bike paths) and a lot of people walk on bike paths and a lot of bikers bike on the foot paths, it is mostly tolerated and people get on with their lives.  But there is a wooden bridge along a path by the Isar River and it’s quite narrow, I tend not to bike along it as it gets very narrow if there is a bike and a person going along there… but a few days ago I saw this:

which is a 2 man police patrol (well ok, a man and a woman patrol) and the stopped the bikes for biking along the bridge.  The couldn’t be seen until one had got around the corner!  I carried on down there and asked a bike who had got stopped what happened and he said “Nothing”, he told me he was supposed to get a 10 Euro fine but they only told him off!  Lucky him!

A bit further along the same bridge I also took this picture of some graffiti:

you might have to double-click on the picture to see it properly, it’s the outline of 2 bodies as one could see at a scene of crime where there are dead bodies – you know when they are taken away and so one knows where they lay so it is marked!  Weird eh!

As you can see still nice weather!

Although I must say it is a little autumn-y too!  Here are leaves on the ground already.  My dog walking friend says its autumn already and then I saw all these leaves lying around, the 2nd picture is close up (!):

Here is a picture of the Eisbach (a tributary of the Isar) coming out from underground to the Surf wave, although it goes under the road again before coming out to the surf wave:

I also saw this weird butterfly, although I suspect it is moth rather than a butterfly:

maybe someone knows?

Nothing to do with the Police State is what happened this week with my daughter, she was @ a School outing for 5 days near the Alps and got VERY HOMESICK, so we had to go and pick her up on the 2nd night and here you can see the Alps in the background:

My daughter had to go to school the next day, the rest of the school was @ an outing for the day and she couldn’t join that but her parallel class was still @ school, so she had to go there, but the first hour was cancelled so my daughter had to come for a walk with Daisy and me and we went to the Hofgarten:

and we came across this, which are curtains on the arcades around the edges of the Hofgarten, haven’t been able to find out why they are there!

In the afternoon I had to go to our office outside Munich and took my daughter and on the way back we drove past the Siegestor (Marble Arch of Munich!):

and you can see the weather is turning, it rained the rest of the day!

I have no news about dieting or any sports, but read a really interesting Dr. Briffa article about sports which got me a bit motivated – well enough for me to make a salad for dinner:

lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber and feta cheese with olive oil and vinegar dressing!

The Dr. John Briffa article (only works if you copy and paste):

which you can find here if you are interested!

Let’s see if I can EVER find time again to do some sports, be it High Intensity or not!  TTFN!

A little catch up…!

I am so really busy, which was something I hadn’t planned @ the start of the blog!

I have a lot of work, mostly to do with our company and mostly to do with personnel stuff, so totally BORING!

But I have a few impressions from the last month or so… probably longer!

Here are some of the walk pictures, although I have not been walking as much.  I am managing my one hour in the morning where I meet my dog walking friend and her dog, and the other walks are much shorter and apart from dashing to things like shopping and little errands, only involving a bike ride of, @ the most 30 mins, I am not biking either:

there’s been a lot of weather (!) – we’ve had everything, lots of sun and blue skies (more of the skies later!) but also darkness and rain, although not too cold – luckily!

Munich has had lots of cultural views:

At the Haus der Kunst there is a Camouflage-like decoration, there was a blue installation and a pretend stone around the city centre, unfortunately I have no idea why they were there!

We also had Stanley Tunick do a photo session in Munich covering Wagner’s Ring which involved black and red painted people and the red paint came off the people onto Munich’s landmarks where he was photographing and it was a bit of a scandal:

here you can see a few bits left over which are being removed, some involving a hot-gun-thingy with a really hot flame coming out of it to burn off the paint (I don’t know what they are called in English – some kind of torch-thingy!)!

Me walking and biking along the Isar and a little tractor/mower thing showing off how organised the English Garden gardeners are:

As mentioned above, here some pictures of the Munich sky:

And here some of the sky of a darker colour:

Also a few funny pictures:

the first picture shows where you can ‘park’ your dog outside a shop and if you double-click on the 2nd picture you will find the word ‘eyüp’ which is a very Cumbrian expression!

Again a few sky pictures!

I’ve posted pictures of this Mae West statue in Munich, but never this near:

The Eisbach runs under a bridge and there seems to be quite a damn of sticks caught up:

@ the weekend there was an event in the English Garden around the Chinese Tower (Chinesischer Turm), which is always in July and involved Bavarian dancing (all woman in Dirndl’s and the men in Lederhosen) early in the morning.  As far as I could find out it’s a party of the people who work there i.e. the waiters and waitresses who start celebrating early in the morning and by the time we got there for a walk @ about 9:30 am it was in full swing, unfortunately it was completely packed and I couldn’t take a photo as there were too many people and it would have just looked like a mass of people but here you can see a mass of bikes parked nearby (!):

it was also very loud!

So really today this is a blog about Munich and the SKY and not about losing weight in Munich, but I decided I should @ least let you know I was still here!  TTFN!

Been missing again… sorry!

A number of factors have meant I have been missing from the blog:

1.  my daughter has returned home

2.  It’s school holidays so have to entertain my daughter !

3. Hubby gone away again for a long weekend so am being heaped with stuff from work that he usually deals with

4.  I have had no real time for sports, on Thursday my daughter and I went swimming but it was more messing about in water than really swimming and no real biking (doesn’t help that my bike first had a puncture and then a tiny bit of metal had fallen from the wire which went to the gears so I only had 2 gears 1. really fast and 2. really, really, really fast so I had to take my bike back to the repairs again after it had already been missing for nearly a day with the puncture…!)

AND the WORST point

5.  Unfortunately if I am missing from the blog it usually means my food isn’t going so well or rather my weight loss isn’t going well so I don’t post as I am a) embarrassed and b) feeling negative!

But this time it is mostly the first 3 points.

On Friday I had to get up @ 6:45am to go to the equivalent of the DVLA (or whatever) to tell the authorities that I don’t own my van anymore… i.e. get a bit of paper allowing the person who bought it from me to export it, in this case to Poland!

Then today (Saturday) I had to get up @ 7am to meet the Pole who was buying the van!  My daughter was supposed to come with me but when it came to getting up @ 7am she decided to stay in bed.  I got there fairly easily as no traffic:

when I got there I had forgotten one of the bits of paper which in fact hubby said I shouldn’t give them but then it dawned on me whilst I was selling the van that of course he needed that bit as it was on that bit that the authorities had stamped that the car had been un-registered!  So I had to go back home… it was all a bit strange because I could have been a crook then as I had the money and I had ‘accidentally’ taken one key and they only had one bit of paper so if I hadn’t turned up again they couldn’t have left… but of course I wasn’t going to do that!  My daughter was still asleep and I took Daisy this time as she was ready for her walk and got back to them and sorted it finally, with all the correct papers and I had earned some money for an old van!

the sky (a typical view I have posted before) on the way to your office outside of Munich to pick up the post which I also did on Friday!

I am afraid my blog today is all a bit muddled… not in the right order and a little confusing… but never mind!  The above 2 pictures are the Westbad (the ‘West’ swimming pool which has a lovely inside and a huge outside and this time we went to the outside and it was really empty, about 20 people in all over the 4 hours we were there, the 1st pictures shows the huge slide which I didn’t manage to go down as I started to climb up the steps and chickened out before I got to the top as had a bit of vertigo..!

This was today’s food as far as I photographed it… forgot what I had for dinner,  it was not a shake and it was a bit of a mish mash of lots of things!  But here my breakfast a shake with blue berries, strawberries and apricot and the lunch was a jacket potato on salad with a shrimp cocktail sauce over it and lemon and dill!

here’s my dog walk tonight with the sun going down and glowing in different places in the streets near where I live!

So as already mentioned the blog is a bit all over the place today!  Sorry!  I am not sure how it will be rest of the school holidays – it’s all next week too and the weather isn’t going to be that good either – apparently – and rain for 3 days, so how on earth I am going to keep my daughter busy I do not know and it will probably mean my food is all over the place again and also no time for sport and also no time to post, but who knows maybe I can get

again and into gear again and will try to post in between, TTFN!

Just a quick post today…!

Really, really busy today, so very short post!

Had to get up really early as had to go to court !  More later!

Was out of the house by 7:15 am with Daisy in the Hofgarten and the English Garden:

was actually quite nice so early as not to many people about for 40 mins!

Then I rushed home and ate my shake:

Then I had to go to court WITHOUT our lawyer!  We have a guy we gave notice to last year although he was ill and he took us to court asking for money!  This was the appointment to came up with a final figure. the problem was there had been talks between the lawyers the night before and an agreement was arranged, the court date was cancelled, our lawyer took advantage and arranged another meeting for himself and then @ 6pm a fax arrived at my lawyer’s office saying all agreements were off.  That is why I had to go without a lawyer!  That’s when the problems started as the Judge was very keen to finish it today!  However we wouldn’t agree to the extortionate amount the ex-employer was asking for.  The judge said it was too much to (luckily for us), I managed to reach hubby who told me the maximum amount he was prepared to pay, when I mentioned it in court, everyone signed and then the judge made a suggestion and we then had to go out again to discuss it.  @ last we came to an agreement!  But nerve raking!

This was a photo in the English Garden on the way back on my bike:

I had left my daughter with my mum in the office and when I got back we got ready for a swim together in the hotel where I usually go!

We were very lucky as there were very few people there so we could be a bit silly if we wanted, that was until my daughter slipped and banged her head against the wall and scraped her arm!  It wasn’t too bad thank goodness and no blood which was good.  I swam for an hour, then we ordered lunch there and I had a caesar salad with anchovies:

After lunch we went for another swim for 40 mins but this time it was more messing about and playing, although I did do some swimming too!

When we got home my daughter called a friend and I wanted to got out to do some shopping, was just about to set off when I found I had got a puncture in my bike…!  Wonderful, not!  So decided to push the bike to the bike shop for him to repair tomorrow as was already 7pm so knew he wouldn’t manage it today.

When I got back I had a bit of a crap rest of the day as snacked again on stuff in the fridge and also had a nectarine and apricot that was the good part!  Then I ate the rest of hubby’ caesar salad:

I really don’t know what’s changed today from the last 2 weeks and I hope it’s only a little BLIP!  And it wasn’t really that bad but really not that good either!  Let’s see in the next few days!  Plus it was a really hard day!  Busy and decision making time too (court)!  So TTFN!

Return of my baby…!

Hubby and daughter are coming home tonight… everything seemed to have to get done and quickly!  Managed to get up in time for a walk with my dog walk friend though for an hour:

this was whilst we were waiting, 1st picture a huge tree-mushroom and 2nd picture Daisy eating some grass!

When I got home took my shake to work:

my mother noticed I was “all het up” (Cumbrian for all worried!) and she said I could go home early if I had things to do.

I decided to go and get the post from our office out of town first so off I drove across the Bavarian countryside:

On the way back along the motorway I came across this horse in a horse box, here you can see its tail sticking out of the back on the right!:

When I got home I wanted to go swimming but it was nearly my normal lunch time so ate 2 apricots so I wouldn’t get too hungry

Then I went swimming for an hour and when I got back I had lunch on my Peter Rabbit Plate (1st picture):

lunch = a beetroot, 2 tomatoes, 1/2 avocado, a raisin and sunflower seed roll and 2 small salads – a shrimp salad and a Munich Salad = small slices of special ham, vinegar, onions and small slices of pickled cucumbers!

Then lunchtime walk with Daisy for 50 mins:

2nd picture shows the mown grass by the Isar (that’s our Munich County Council for you!):

I had a handful of lovely cherries when I got back.  Then I got stuck into work – as usual by accident i.e. I only wanted to look for something and ended up working for 2 hours – filing, filling out papers etc etc!  I had a lemon Herbalife protein bar whilst I was working:

When Daisy started to whine as she wanted to go out – well it was 8pm and I quickly went out just before a rain storm but it was only a short storm and when I got back I had my shake:

I have missed her although I was rather busy with work, going to the cinema and my bike tour!  Oh, and of course Hubby came home too BUT he immediately had to go out again as a driver had some catastrophe!  Poor hubby!

Unfortunately my mother in law had given hubby some food… and I snacked a bit on some… Pide which is the very thin layers of pastry with cheese inside and very good but also very fatty!  And then I ate a fig biscuit and a piece of chocolate…

but I think I will survive it!  So today went ok all in all but now I have nearly a week and 1/2  left of school holidays where it might be a bit difficult because I probably won’t get time to do my sports, I mean my swimming!  So let’s wait and see how it goes!  TTFN!
